There are several definitions floating around to describe an internet troll. But either way you dice it, all roads point to the intent to disrupt, derail, or distract the goal, intention, or objective of a thread discussion. Today marks day 21 of our challenge. By now it should be coming a habit for us to focus on our deepest desire, deliberate purpose, goal. However, I noticed the more determined I become to focus the more the trolls (Totally Ridiculous Overbearing Ludicrous Lies) come out to play. Not sure if this has been your experience or not.
It’s funny how easy it is to recognize a troll online but not the trolls online in our minds. Nope, not easy at all! The trolls in our mind skip right pass the gatekeeper and wreak havoc and totally distract, derail, or disrupt us from our goals. Similar to online trolls the TROLLs in our minds are nothing less than Totally Ridiculous Overbearing Ludicrous Lies we engage in mental conversations with and feed to the point they distract, derail, or disrupt. Oftentimes leaving us feeling totally discouraged.
We are rounding the corner and things are about to heat up. The closer we get to our manifestations the more fear aka trolls will arise from our subconscious minds to be silenced. Hopefully, we will shush them once and for all. I agree with Florence Shinn when she said “Every great work, every big accomplishment, has been brought into manifestation through holding to the vision, and often just before the big achievement, comes apparent failure and discouragement.”
This is reflected in the old adage “It is always darkest before dawn.” The children of Israel taught us a lot about this in the Bible. Remember? They had reached the promised land. And, if I remember the account correctly, scouts were sent to check things out and come back and report on their findings. The first report came from Caleb and his was based on faith. He calmed the people and said “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”
But the men with him (the trolls) said “We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” And further indicated “And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” So many lessons are illustrated here as it relates to the conversations in our heads when it’s time for us to enter into our own promised lands. Ironically I find it interesting they reported that the sons of Anak saw them the same.
This account reminds me of the old saying so within, so without. Isn’t it interesting that the men assumed that the inhabitants perceived them in the same manner they perceived themselves? Sidney J Harris quote sheds light on this type of thinking, “It’s surprising how many persons go through life without ever recognizing that their feelings toward other people are largely determined by their feelings toward themselves, and if you’re not comfortable within yourself, you can’t be comfortable with others.”
Totally Ridiculous Overbearing Lies will distort our perceptions over and over again if we feed them with our undivided attention. They distort our perceptions of ourselves and others. This is almost every man’s experience when he is attempting to reach a goal that requires faith. However, the one who practices and knows spiritual law, is undisturbed by appearances.
The Bible admonishes us to rejoice while one is “yet in captivity.” In other words, we should hold to our vision and give thanks that the end is accomplished and that we have received it while ignoring contrasting appearances and the internal/external trolls. Remembering that a big manifestation is usually preceded by tormenting thoughts (trolls). It is during these times we must make our affirmations of truth repeatedly, and rejoice and give thanks that we have already received.
Our words and thoughts are our greatest strengths or our greatest weakness. They are a tremendous vibratory force ever moulding and shaping our body and affairs. So do NOT feed Totally Ridiculous Overbearing Ludicrous Lies……feed your dreams, hopes, vision, faith, and confidence.
