I checked out a book from the library today. And, a piece of paper was tucked inside. It was a journal entry of man with severely limited eyesight. His words captivated me as they described his world of limited vision. About how he has to rely on his hearing twice as much to capture the full essence when someone is communicating with him.
His greatest lessons in life were to seek to understand others, be kind to them, and extend compassion. He went on to say listening by far was the greatest gift to bestow upon others.
It touched my heart and reminded me that it’s not so much what happens to you in life but how you take it. He could have chosen to feel bitter and like life had cheated him somehow. But, instead he chose to focus his energy on being a better person to bless others.
