We expend way too much energy striving for people, situations, circumstances and events that are not divinely ours to have. And the more we do this, the more we think there is something wrong with us. When in actuality, it’s not that it’s you….it’s that the person, situation, circumstance and/or event was NOT for you.
Acceptance helps us to recognize quickly when things are not for us so that we can keep it moving to the things that are for us. I guess that’s why 1 Thessalonians 5:18 admonishes us to give thanks in everything.
I challenge you today to give thanks for everything including the feelings of discomfort, disappointment, pain, hurt, and/or setbacks. And to remember it’s not always you….more times than not it’s NOT for you.
