My 2017 Releases

We hear so much about new year’s resolution.  Each year we get excited about the incoming new year and proclaim “This is going to be my year!”  To only come to December 31st and lament the year didn’t treat us well.  I’ve discovered part of the resolution process is releasing.

We’re really good at proclaiming our resolution without considering what do we need to release in order to make our resolutions come to life.  Hence the adage “Out with the old and in with the new.”  Far too often we want to create the new using the outdated thoughts and remnants from the old.  Knowing that old ways won’t open new doors.

For instance, weight loss…a favorite resolution we like to embrace each year right?  I’m going to work out more, I’m going to eat within my caloric range, etc.  But what about the release side of it?  What about  releasing emotional eating?  What about releasing laziness?  What about releasing negative self image?

Or I will grow my business this year….double my income…expand my audience?  What do we need to release in order to make that happen?  Maybe we need to release fear?  Or maybe we need to release the misconception that any of this will make us happy.  Maybe we should focus on releasing indecision, worry, fear, resentments, old flames, disappointments, old hurts, poor self image, distractions, or unnecessary mental chatter.

If 2016 didn’t teach me anything else, it taught me that faith power is an important part of personal power.  It taught me that the worse feeling in the world is to be separated from my own power.  It taught me to appreciate the now and that staying present is the only way for me to leverage my personal power.

So I’ve decided that in 2017, I’m willing to release searching for happiness outside of myself and learn to get in touch with that Something Within that Silent Force that seems to know far better than I what’s best for the development of the general plan or desired one held by me.  I’m willing to trust this invisible partner and its skills and its desires to see me win.

I’m willing to release the habit of assigning negative meanings to setbacks that seem like failures.  I’m willing to trust that later on I will see them as the best thing that could have happened to me at the time.

I’m willing to release living in the past and/or the future.  I’m willing to practice giving the present my undivided attention because I know that all my power is in the now.  And, that presence is the only way that I can create.

I’m willing to release all limited beliefs that creates/promotes a poor self image within myself. I’m willing to re-educate my mind so that it might reproduce in itself the efficient activities to create/promote a positive, healthy, strong and vigorous self image.

I’m willing to release who I think I am and the limitations of personality/ego.  I’m willing to surrender my ego and be transformed by Universal Love and Infinite Intelligence.

I’m willing to release all of my fears and embrace expansion, growth, and unlimited possibilities.

I’m willing to release all thoughts, things, people, situations, habits, and/or circumstances that do not serve my highest purpose and good in 2017.  I’m willing to express my authentic self and share my gifts, talents, and abilities as much as I possibly can in 2017.

Yes! You Can Choose Your Mood

Contrary to popular belief….Yes!  You can choose your mood no matter what.  I remember my first reaction to Tony Robbins when he indicated that we choose our moods.  I was like yeah right I choose my moods/emotions.  I don’t know what he is talking about so and so pissed me off or that person annoys me.  We give people waaaaaay to much credit for how we feel…both good and bad.

No person, situation and/or circumstance can cause us to feel a certain way.  We choose each and every day, intentionally or unintentionally, what mood we’re going to be in.  I resisted this knowledge for so long because I didn’t want to take full responsibility for my emotional landscape.  And at the end of the day I rendered myself a victim who was powerless and over-reactive.   All because I wanted to avoid the responsibility for my own mood.

For the last 3-4 months, I have been deliberately and consciously practicing to intentionally choose my mood no matter what.  Words cannot express how much better I feel overall and how much more clarity and focus I have experienced each day.  I refuse to give my personal power away like I used to do repeatedly in the past.  Our dominant thoughts control our emotions/moods.

When we change our dominant thoughts our mood changes.  Just like the cartoon indicates overthinking is a surefire way to land us in a bad mood.  Another thing I noticed too is that when I would overthink things and start speculating and personalizing other people’s actions as being intentionally directed against me,  that it would definitely trigger me to start feeling some type of way.

I’ve learned the hard way that it’s really best for me stay out of other people’s hea because I really have no way of knowing their true motivations unless they shared them with me.  Thought energy is our most valuable resource.  We can choose to spend it or invest it.

In my opinion, we spend it whenever we choose to go to the automatic negative and spiral ourselves into a bad mood because we have nothing to show for our thought energy except attracting more things into our experience to worsen our bad mood.  We invest it whenever we choose to focus on the things we want, giving the benefit of the doubt, and expecting the best from others because we will attract more things into our experience to add to our good mood.

At the end of the day, this is truly what law of attraction is about…the energy we put out will attract like energy.  Put out bad mood energy and attract more bad mood energy.  Put out good mood energy and attract more good mood energy.  Abraham Hicks promotes setting your intention for the day when it comes to your emotions/moods.

I have conducted several experiments with this concept and it works.  Try it for the next 30 days.  Keep a note pad by your bedside and first thing in the morning when you arise decide which five emotions you choose to feel throughout the day and list five things you plan to do that day to ensure you’re in a good mood.

For example, “Today it is my dominant intention to feel energetic, loving, optimistic, cheerful, and playful. I will do the following to make me feel good today: 1 – go for a 15 minute walk, 2 – take a long hot bubble bath by candlelight, 3 – listen to upbeat music for an hour, 4 – send a thinking of you card to a friend or family member, 5 – meditate”.

Keep a mood journal for 30 days.  In this journal record your dominant intention first thing in the morning and how you intend to make yourself feel good.  Then rate yourself in the evening on a scale of 1-10 on how well you did in achieving your goal and any notable insights/observations concerning how your day went.

Life is what we make it and Yes!  You can choose your mood.  So why not choose a good one!

Don’t Underestimate the Value of Free

My motto is “If it’s free it’s for me!”  However, far too often people underestimate the value of free.  You don’t have to be great to start but you have to start to be great. We are living a massive information age where so much information and training is at our disposal with the click of the mouse.

I stumbled upon a gold mine with a dear friend of mine offering a free 10 day challenge.  And the information shared and the camaraderie of the private FB group has been nothing short than amazing.  She has been able to positively motivate each and every one of us to launch into action to grow our personal businesses.

I’m glad I decided to join her challenge.  And even more grateful that she extended an invitation to her FB friends.  She is well on her way to becoming an internet famous VIP.  If you’re trying to grow your business, she is definitely your girl Friday.

I encourage you to join her challenge and take advantage of the last five days and I guarantee you that if you actively participate, Carla will meet you at your point of need and help you grow in knowledge and results.

Don’t delay!  Visit her website today and enjoy this invaluable gift of free….

Is It Just My Imagination Running Away with Me?

I’ve often read worry is a misuse of the imaginative power.  And I wonder why it is so easy for me to use my imagination in this way and so challenging to use it constructively.  I believe it takes courage to imagine the future that one desires without a shred of evidence of it coming true.  I also believe it is increasingly more difficult to do so when “reality” presents  us with the opposite.

After all we’ve all been drown and brainwashed in sayings like “seeing is believing”, “face the truth of the matter”, “face the facts”.  In other words, we’ve all been conditioned that “reality” trumps “imagination”.  I’m learning I have much to unlearn in order to embrace and harness the real truth about life and how we create the life we deeply desire.

It’s worth it to me to learn more about how to harness my imagination.  After all, the imagination properly trained will readily and efficiently plan, design, construct, build, improve, and generally perform creative work for us all.   I know that I know how to imagine because I do it so well with imagining the worse possible outcome.

In the same way, I now need to learn how to consistently redirect this energy to imagining the best possible outcome and holding on to it and replaying it over and over again in my mind like I do with the worse possible outcome.  Another thing I have discovered that’s fairly interesting and worth mentioning is how quickly people with concur with my imaginative acts towards the worse.

I think others relate to this more than when I declare, decree, and decide that the best possible outcome is on tap and waiting to be delivered to me.    I must have the courage to stand alone in my conviction of what I can create with my imagination and work/pray in secret and wait til I’m rewarded openly.

I’ve decided that I’m going to let my imagination run wild, run free, and focus it on the ideal of a strong, healthy, wealthy, loving, loved, free, accomplished,  appreciative, enlightened, and vigorous woman and trust that that ‘something within’ will faithfully reproduce this ideal in physical and material form and activity.  I will do my job which is to consistently imagine and trust that someway somehow it will happen for me.  And the leave the how to the Universe.

♥♥ I Choose to Be Thankful for the Divine ♥♥

Today I choose to feel thankful and appreciative.  It’s so easy for me to take things for granted because I become so consumed with what I don’t have and want.  When in actuality I have more things working in my favor at any given moment than not.

Today I especially choose to be thankful for the divine.  A lady rear ended me today while I was attempting to pay my fees to exit a parking deck.  Thankfully there were no damages to her car or mine.  Yet it served to remind me that divine protection is constantly serving me and intervening to help keep me safe and sound and my heart is running over with love and gratitude because it could’ve been so much worse.

So all I want to share today is that I am thankful for the Divine and my gratitude for today reads as follows:

  • Thank you for divine protection
  • Thank you for divine love
  • Thank you for divine guidance
  • Thank you for divine wisdom
  • Thank you for divine favor
  • Thank you for divine timing
  • Thank you for divine connections
  • Thank you for divine presence
  • Thank you for divine healing
  • Thank you for divine gifts and talents
  • Thank you for divine intervention

The world serves us in so many wonderful, splendid, and magnificent ways.  Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you is all I can say for today.  And, while we’re on this subject of gratitude.  I would like to thank my reading community for all the likes and comments and support.  I greatly appreciate you tuning in and letting me know that you’re enjoying my posts.  May your blessings and joys multiply 100 fold.

Present Tense is a Present

I can’t tell you how many different books I’ve read and the authors unanimously promote living in the now.  NOW! NOW! NOW! they all seem to be shouting at me from each and every book.  Yet I still struggled with my attention drifting to the past or fast forwarding into the future.  And not in a good way either.  No my time travel was more akin to the old adage if you’re feeling sad then you’re living in the past and if you’re feeling anxious then you’re living in the future.

Indeed it was like time travel too as it seems I would lose not only hours at a time but sometimes weeks, months, and years too.  All because I was mentally lazy/undisciplined and seemed to prefer to be anywhere other than in the present.  It’s just recently am I truly understanding the power of present tense and how much of a priceless present/gift to myself it is when I train and discipline myself to stay in the moment with the intent to milk it for all the goodness and productivity that it can possibly yield to me.

I have found it’s really on best for me to visit the past for two reasons…to uncover lessons to improve in the present and/or future or to relive good memories to enjoy good feelings in the present.  Likewise, it’s only advantageous for me to visit the future for two reasons…to create an end result/desire that I would like leverage the present tense to move me closer to or to make plans.

And that’s it …other than that all the juice, excitement, joy, love, freedom, passion, energy is right here right now!   And right here right now is where 100% of my attention needs to be unless I’m milking some sweet, sweet memory that makes me feel good all over, upping my game, making plans, or setting goals.

Even when it comes to my future desires, goals, and aspirations the present tense serves be a power pack present.  I have been regularly journaling using one of Abraham Hicks techniques which is to utilize the writing prompt ….”If I Had It My Way…”  And then answering it in present tense as if it is happening in this very moment.

The more days in a row I do this journal exercise the more excited, optimistic, energetic, free, appreciative, passionate, exuberant, expansive, and joyful I feel.  I will continue to show up each day milking the present for every present I can get from it.  Life is too short now to enjoy every second of it infusing it with as much love, joy, and laughter as we possibly can.  As my great aunt used to say…..”Live well while you can.”

Cheers! ♥♥♥

They’ll Like You If You Like Them

In order to be successful in life we need people.  That’s the bottom line.  No matter how much our ego tries to convince us we don’t need people…we absolutely do need people. We need them to help us and more often than not the more they like us the more willing they are to help us.  And the easiest way to get others to like us is to like them first.

I know we all have been trained to trust our gut and I’m pretty sure we’ve all had that first encounter when we instinctively did not like the other fella.  Can we be sure that it’s always our gut that’s the reason upon first encounter we automatically don’t like the other person?  Would you agree that it could also be a reflection of our own insecurities, ambivalence, or even how we happen to be feeling about ourselves on that particular day?

It’s easy to fall into this trap of not liking others.  The problem is when we go into a situation not liking the other person they are going to sense our dislike and it will kill any potential chance of persuading them and/or their willingness to help us.  And chances are they will respond to our dislike with dislike for us in return.

Trust me I know this is much easier said than done.  However, I think this one little trick will make it easier to do this and that’s to take the find-something-to-like about them approach.  Abraham Hicks has a similar philosophy called looking for the positive aspects.

I know I know …I hear you saying but  “How do you find the one thing to like about the annoying critical person who’s negative and always conjures up the worst possible outcome?” Well, I have found typically they are also  very good contingency planners and help us foolproof our plan of action.  Every trait can be viewed two ways, when we’ve defaulted to the negative then we need to switch it to the positive.

Focus on and play to the positive aspects of their weakness aka strength.  This way skeptical becomes careful, stubborn becomes resolute, silent becomes good listener, critical becomes analytical/contingency planner, aggression becomes passion.  And the list goes on.  Sometimes it takes more effort to find a likable trait but everyone has one and it’s worth the effort to look for it.

Ironically the more we look for the positive aspects in others the more we look for the positive aspects within ourselves.  Likewise the more we like others the more we like ourselves.  It truly is a win-win and it works….they’ll like you if you like them.

I love to learn.  Please leave me a comment with examples of how negative traits can be flipped into positive ones.

Look forward to hearing from you…….

When, Where, or How Is None of My Business

It’s funny how we pray or ask the Universe for a desire and then continue to meddle in business that is not ours.  When we continue to meddle in the when, where, and/or how our desires will manifest we turn a joyful process into a burden.  Because meddling and worrying about the latter only serves to create resistance.

When we entrust God/Universe to handle the when, where, and how, it leaves us free to receive.  Have you notice how children are experts in doing this?  I suppose that’s why the Bible says that in order to enter into the kingdom of God, we have to become like a child.  Because children have no problem whatsoever in entrusting the when, where, and/or how to their parents.

I also guess this is why the Bible encourages us to “Cast our burdens upon the Lord”.  This act of entrusting God/Universe, allows us to strengthen our faith and to demonstrate that we know that God/Universe is limitless and abundant.  One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”  Again, I’m don’t subscribe to any one religion but I do subscribe to what resonates as true for me.

I’m using this reference only to illustrate that nothing is too hard for God/Universe and its supply is abundant and limitless.  Therefore, when we pray/ask for assistance/make a petition/cast a desire or whatever you want to call it….we need to be a lady or gentleman and step aside and allow Infinite Intelligence to calculate the best course for us.

I find whenever I have difficulty minding my business and staying out of the when, where, and how of it all is when I have mistakenly formed and attachment to the having of it.  Things do not satisfy…things do not make us happy.  And when we avoid attaching our happiness, contentment, or satisfaction to a desired outcome it not only becomes easy to mind our own business but we’re patient as we wait for our manifestation to take form in our material world.

So I’m saying all this to say to those who are waiting on desires to be filled….mind your own business…leave the when, where, how to God/Universe…..focus on feeling good, focus on feeling optimistic, feeling appreciative, feeling joyful, feeling loving, feeling loved, feeling confident and you’ll be pleasantly surprised how quickly you’ll find yourself in your desired state of living.

Cheers! ❤ ❤ ❤

Do Your Thoughts Have Drawing Power?

Do your thoughts have drawing power?  In order to attract the conditions we want in life our thoughts must have drawing power.  But, how will I know if my thoughts have drawing power?  I’m glad you asked because I asked the same question too.  The answer to this question can only be found in studying ourselves and understanding our own mental diet.  We have to observe ourselves to determine where we are positive and where we are negative in our thoughts.

Thoughts have the same power.  But, just like the sun the intensity of the power is contingent upon the concentration of our thoughts.  Henry Harrison Brown gives a comprehensive list of thoughts that have absolutely no drawing power….”All thoughts of lack in yourself; all thoughts of want; all tendencies to complain, wish, or find fault with yourself, all criticisms, regrets, and self condemnation; all thoughts of inability to cope with any condition; all thoughts of shrinking, avoiding, fearing any person, thing, or condition; all thoughts of reliance upon friends, money, position, reputation or culture; all thoughts of any assistance from without yourself; all these are thoughts are thoughts of weakness.”

They are non-attractive and lack magnetic power to draw to us the conditions we desire from life.  Study yourself to determine how much you concentrate upon thoughts like these. Realize how much you diffuse your power when you worry, fear, fret and complain.  Once you discover where you been holding a thought of these kinds, immediately change to its opposite.  Never think in terms of want.  Think in terms of having possession of the desired condition in present tense.

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard “act as if”  during training sessions when I was in direct sales.  But, it’s only been recently that I finally understand the mechanism as to why this works.  Whenever we successfully “act as if”, we also channel the feelings of possession of the desired state.  We begin to adopt the attitudes, conversations, and actions that are congruent to our “act as if” state.

And when we feel that we have; others then will feel the same because we radiate those vibrations of power that cause them to feel, to believe in us, and to act under those feelings.  Have you ever notice the times in life when you were focused and in the zone, how people are drawn to you?  Not only are they drawn to you but also appear eager to assist you towards your goals?

There is a distinct drawing power that we emit when the whole of man is turned to one purpose through concentrating upon one thought. It’s important to recognize as we think, so are our radiations that we send forth to create conditions on our behalf.  When we scatter our thoughts, our radiations/drawing powers are diffused and people do not feel, do not recognize us.  We make them feel us by shooting our vibrations from the chamber of our concentration.

Learn to cultivate the feeling from practicing the vibration of “acting as if” and you will make others feel too and be drawn to you to help you create the conditions in life you desire.  Be a dynamo and the currents will flow.  Feeling is the power which thought directs.  In other words, think, speak, act just as you wish it to be, and you will draw to you that which you wish it to be.

What Has Been Your Practice?

What has been your practice?  Has it been to live a life filled with complexities or do you practice keeping it simple?  I know I have scattered myself in so many different directions in times past and ended up not getting anything done.  Bruce Lee said “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”

I believe this is very important in our Thought Life as it relates to focusing our thoughts in order to manifest the things we desire in life.  I liked that Earl Nightingale in the Strangest Secret suggests to focus on the one thing you want for 30 days and to practice giving all your positive energy to the one thought of it’s attainment.

In a book I’m reading the author suggests it too, to practice harnessing thoughts towards the one major desire and to practice silencing all other thoughts that are contrary to the one thing you desire most.  I like what the author had to say about having too many things you’re trying to think about and trying to manifest them all at one time.  He says it dilutes your power when you jump from one subject to the next  or when we’re constantly changing our minds and/or constantly entertaining doubt, worry, fear as it relates to the attainment of what we desire most.

I decided to put the pedal to the medal and to adopt this habit keeping it simple and practicing the one thought from now to the end of year.  If my mind starts to drift, I am disciplining myself to come back to the affirmation of the one thought.  I’m also practicing asking more questions and making fewer statements.  I have found most statements to be limiting.

For instance instead of saying, I want to lose 10 lbs.  I ask the question how can I lose 10 lbs in a healthy, fun way?  If it’s money…instead of saying I want to double my income.  Try practice asking the question “How can I double my income by xyz in a stimulating, fun, engaging way?”, “How can I find the loving mate I deeply desire easily and effortlessly?”, “How can I double the number of customers I have?”, “How can I find the right house for the right price in the right neighborhood?”, “How can I exercise regularly and enjoy it?”, “How can I heal my body?, “How can I earn better grades easily and effortlessly?”, etc.

You get the picture?  Tony Robbins is a huge advocate of asking quality questions.  He advocates that the quality of one’s life is in direct proportion to the amount of quality questions one ask themselves.  Practice asking the one question, practice focusing on the realization of the one question, leave the how to the Universe, and go entertain yourself while you wait and make yourself as happy, loving, joyful, and appreciative as you possibly can in the meantime.
