Live Within My Means

For some of us one of the most challenging lessons in life is learning the art of handling money and knowing how to finance ourselves wisely. It seems that there is always some temptation to spend money.

However the world demands that every individual knows how to take care of themselves, how to be independent, self-reliant, how to finance themselves wisely, and how to make the most of their income.

One lesson we should all pass along to our children is the tragic consequences of debt, especially when incurred in early life. It has ruined many of the most promising careers. Nothing kills our enthusiasm, zeal, and creativity than feeling trapped and like we have our hands tied hand and foot by the curse of debt.

When we fall into the self-defeating habit of purchasing that which we cannot afford can lead to handicapping ourselves for many years. No one can be happy, no matter how optimistic who is forever in the clutches of poverty, of harassing debt.

I don’t know about you but I have made the conscious decision to no longer live beyond my means. There is an old adage which says the best way to get out of a hole is to stop digging. Starting today I am making the commitment to stop digging. And will commit myself to increasing my financial acuity.

I shall adopt Charles A Jaffe’s saying as my new mantra …. “It’s not your salary that makes you rich, it’s your spending habits.”

Do You Owe You – What Did YOU Not Do?

OMG!  I loved, loved, loved this video!!!!  Best way I could have spent 7 minutes of my time today.  I was just sitting here wondering what to write about in my post today to support my theme of optimizing October with optimism and I heard this.  Eric Thomas really knows how to have the hard talk.

I’m amazed how well his message aligns with this quote…

This is why I am loving my experiment this month because the most powerful tool at our disposal is building the new.  Do you know what it is that you want?  Are you doing all that you can for yourself?

Is there something you are NOT doing for you?  Demand the best for yourself, expect good things to happen for you, and pay yourself in spades by using everything at your disposal to make it happen for you!

Cheers!!!! ♥♥♥

PS.  By the way, how did you do on yesterday?  Did you decide to do the imagination practice?  I did and boy I am on fire today with excitement and anticipation.  I not only wrote my script…I recorded it too.  I plan on listening to it several times throughout the day.  I am going to use my imagination to hypnotize myself into a winner’s mentality. Meet me in the winner’s circle!

Day 14 – In Prison Though Not Behind Bars

prison (2) Are you the man or woman you want to be? If not, then what are you now?  You’re a prisoner though not behind bars.  You’re imprisoned by present concepts.  You go to sleep each night as the man or woman that you do not want to be.  So you’re in prison.   But you say “I’m not like the fellow in Sing Sing.  I’m not behind bars.”

Need money? You may not be behind jail bar doors. But you’re still behind.  Behind on rent, behind on this, behind on that, behind on bills for credit cards, etc.  While not behind physical bar, you’re still behind and can’t seem to find the sum of money to pay it off to get out of financial prison.

Sometimes our faith/imagination can take a real brow beating from “reason”.  And, each time we allow “reason” to overrule our faith, we place ourselves back into prison.  What is reason?  Reason at a very basic level is essentially an extract conclusion from premises.

So why must my premises always be based upon the evidence of my senses?  Why must they always dictate what is rational for me?  Why do I hold on to reason so tightly that I can’t let go and put myself where I want to be?  Why do I allow reason to imprison me and keep me from the freedom to be the woman I want to be?

Reason tells us that something should be done or should be a certain way.  How can I dare to assume otherwise and free myself from this self imposed freedom?  One of my favorite books in the Bible, The Epistle of James, hold some clues for us.  I believe the teachings of Scripture but not doctrine.  Therefore,  I’m not coming from a religious dogma standpoint but a spiritual application standpoint with my references.

be a doer

In James 1:22 – 25, James admonishes us to be doers of the word and not hearers only because hearers are like a man who beholds himself in the mirror and immediately forgets what manner a man he is but a man who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it is a doer of the work.  And that man will be blessed in his deed.   What this says to me is that I must affix my mind on God/Universe to provide how my emancipation will take place and I must continue to hold this vision and  persevere in it until it comes to past.

In other words, I must dare to believe I’m free and rearrange my mind to support this concept.  I must dare to be the woman that I would be…a free woman.  I must do and persist.  I simply must do it.   My mantra being I did it, I’m doing it, I will continue to do it until that which I have done has perfectly externalized within my world.  Mark 11:24 says “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Thus making the thing become alive within us – Acting AS IF.

James 2:17 tells us that faith without works is dead.  Not to be confused with works alone is needed.  But that works is evidence of faith I profess is alive or dead.   This type of faith leads us to ask questions like “If I really believed I was debt free, what and where would I be?”, “What would my feelings be like if it were true?”,  “How would my decisions be different?”, “My actions?” and we dare to assume it and persevere in it.

If we believe it and then an hour later we are not persevering, then we’re the hearer and not the doer.

indecisiveJames also tells about when the double minded man comes your way who is unstable in all his ways give him nothing.  Besides, what do you give a man that doesn’t know what he wants?  One speaker said he put this to the test when he was dining out.  He asked the waiter how much did he want as a tip and told his friend who was dining with him that he would give the waiter what he asked for within reason not to exceed a hundred dollars.  The waiter was unable to tell him.  He had no concept of what he wanted.

If we have not mastered this already, we must learn how to go beyond our senses.  And, we must do this with the understanding that what we now know from experience, what we know from the past, will not be what we know when we know more than what we know now.  We need to look at any data perceived my our senses and say “It doesn’t matter” or “It’s not my concern” and look into the perfect law of liberty and persevere.

We need to try it, try it, try it every moment of time with the question “What do I want to be?” and then assume we are it.  We need to dare assume it is true and persevere until it hardens into fact.  Otherwise, we sentence ourselves to prison to continue living in a state we do not want.

I invite you to answer the question what do you want to be, assume you are it, and persevere until you are blessed in your deed.

Your thoughts?

Do You Really Want It?

I’m reminded today how often we say we want X,Y,Z but deep down inside we really don’t want it because we are hesitant to make the decision to get it.   And there really is a profound difference in wanting something and making a decision to get it.  One thing I have noticed in life and that is this when a person decides they want something commitment usually follows.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe nailed it when he said “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson said:  “Once you make a decision, the Universe conspires to make it happen.”

Tony Robbins puts it this way: “Using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change and any and every part of your life in an instant.”

JJ Dewey said: “Where there is no decision there is no life.”

Jim Collins said it this way: “Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.”

Jim Rohn is spot on: “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”

LG Elliot said: “Vacillating people seldom succeed.  They seldom receive the solid respect of their fellows.  Successful men and women are very careful in reaching decisions and very persistent and determined in action their after.”

So much of our time and life is wasted because of the inability to make a decision.  My grandfather used to say all of the time “If you don’t know where you’re going any road will take you there.”  Making decisions about what we want helps us to direct and channel our energy in a positive way and it is the fuel to drive us towards success.  We must get off the fence and decide.  We must let our yes be yes and our no be no.  Because once we decide where we want to go ideas flood to us, connections are made for us, opportunity after opportunity seemingly appear out of nowhere, doors are open for us, people are more than willing to assist us all because we have made the decision about what we really want.

Don’t believe me?  Try it as an experiment make the decision to get something you really want whether it be a new job, a new relationship, an ex back, weight loss, weight gain, healing restored to your body, a new home, a new car, a new computer…anything just name and it and make the decision you want it.  And once that decision is made also make the decision that you will invest at least 3-5 minutes each day thinking about it deliberately and how you will feel once you have achieved your goal.  Then I want you to take action on any inspired ideas that come to you about how to achieve your goal.  And, last but certainly not least do not allow yourself to entertain any stinking thinking as it relates to your goal.

Try it as an experiment and do the above for thirty days straight without fail.   Be committed to this for thirty days and then comeback thirty days from now on Saturday, June 20, 2014 and post the results of your experiment.  I dare you to make a decision and stick to positively focusing on your goal for 30 days.  As a matter of fact, I double dare you!

If you accept this thirty day challenge then I highly recommend going to Amazon.com and purchasing the 47 page e-book “The Strangest Secret” by Earl Nightingale for only .99 cents.  He outlines an ingenious 30-day plan that’s sure to get you blazing hot with unquenchable desire to make the decision to achieve what you really want.  Look forward to hearing from you in 30 days!

In DUE Season

Stress makes you believe that everything
has to happen right now.
Faith reassures you that everything
will happen in God’s timing!
– Unknown

Time is the container that holds the beauty of life. All of life is a succession of seasons of TIME (This Is My Entrance or This Is My Exit). We are continuously entering into and out of diverse experiences. There are two realms of time – natural and seasons of supernatural. Seasons of life encompass but are not limited to growth, empowerment, planting, harvesting, and dormancy.

We observe all plants and humans have seasons of dormancy. Yet it appears to be the season of dormancy that causes us the most trouble. However, Divine Unstoppable Energy (DUE) Season is usually preceded by dormancy. In a world of microwaves and instant messages, we have been conditioned to immediate gratification. And, expect immediate results.

Like spoiled children, we tend to get upset when things don’t happen according to our desired timetable which is natural timing. We need to learn to cultivate patience and focus on God’s Perfect timing for our life. God’s supernatural timing is 1,000 times better and bigger than we could ever imagine.

DUE season is God’s supernatural timing. So, let us not become weary and start relying on our power but let’s rely on God’s power. When we patiently wait for DUE season our desires manifest easily, effortlessly, and expediently.  When we are in our season of dormancy we must remember to stand steadfast in faith, affirm our desires, and practice the art of acting as if.   Galations 6:9 says it best….“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Are you in a season of dormancy?  If so, share with us how you are staying strong and optimistic as you wait for your DUE season.

Today, I trust and appreciate divine timing as I await for my desires to unfold.

Resistance is Hell

Resistance is Hell, for it places us in a state of torment.  I read in a book once, “if you don’t run your subconscious mind yourself, someone else will run it for you.”  Far too often we take the path of most resistance.  And, often times we have no idea we are doing it.  What we don’t realize is as long as we resist a situation, we will have it with us.  Even if we try to run away from it, it will run after  us.

I guess that’s why the Bible advises us to “Agree with thine adversary quickly.”  That means, we should agree  adverse situations are good, and be undisturbed by them.  What we will find is that they will fall away of their own weight.  “None of these things move me” is a wonderful affirmation.

Why is it so challenging to embrace the concept that if we don’t offer up an emotional response to an inharmonious situation, that it will fade away forever from our pathway?  When we offer emotional responses to inharmonious situations we are in essence resisting.  And, we all know the adage what you resist, persists.  It persists because we are offering our vibrational energy to it and Law of Attraction ensures we get more of it.

The sooner we realize that our work is always with ourselves the quicker we can learn to master the art of nonresistance.  I’m finding the more I cultivate the habit of relaxing the easier it is becoming for me to practice the art of nonresistance.  Our ability to generate power is directly proportional to our ability to relax.  Like Shunryu Suzuki said “If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything.”

I’m learning that anything that causes me to overreact or underreact can control me, and often it does.  Responding inappropriately because of resistance will lead to undesired results.  I’m learning to refuse to give more or less attention to things than they deserve.  I’m finding the best way for me to do that is to condition my mind to be clear like water.

Imagine tossing a rock into a still pond.  How does the water respond?  It responds according to the force and mass of the incoming object, then it returns to calm.  The water doesn’t overreact and it doesn’t underreact.  The water is able to do this because it is already in a still and flexible state prior to the object being thrusted upon it.

Likewise to avoid resistance and being in Hell, clearing our minds and being flexible are key.  And, we can achieve this by making peace with what is and seeing it as the golden link in our chain of good, and by incorporating relaxation into our day-to-day life.  So the next time you’re finding yourself resisting what is say to yourself “None of this moves me” respond appropriately and return to calm.

All You Have to Do is FOCUS!

My new favorite commercial is the 5-hour Energy drink commercial.  The descriptions for What is Focus rang true to me.  It says….

  • it’s a wondrous sensation of clarity and alertness
  • it’s owning your opponent
  • it’s knowing beyond the doubt you got this!
  • it’s keeping your head down, your eyes on the ball and knocking it out the park
  • it’s getting in the zone
  • it’s keeping on your toes, on target, on top
  • focus is facing the world and saying bring it!
  • focus is power!
  • focus is life!

WOW!  What a phenomenal description of focus.  I love words and meanings so I decided to google the synonyms for focus and much to my surprise I discovered one of the synonyms for it is heart and of course feeling is a synonym of heart.  Something about all of this brought to my remembrance the Bible Verse in Proverbs which says “Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it spring the issues of life.”

By then I was like wow just wow wow wow!  Talk about things coming full circle.  One of the mantras from Abraham Hicks’ teaching is to care about how you feel and to make it your number one priority because feelings create vibrational stances that activate Law of Attraction to magnetize more things, situations, people, and events to intensify whatever feelings you are experiencing whether they are positive or negative.

Focus is the key to unlocking all of your desires.  I discovered an acronym for FOCUS today and it said Follow One Course Until Successful.  I tend to agree and the one course is as simple as simple can be and that is to make feeling good your #1 priority.  And, to do that we must Guard our hearts with all diligence.   We must care  how we feel and watch over our feelings in order to protect and/or control them.

I agree with Prov. 4:23 and Hicks’ teachings… we need to guard our focus/heart/feelings because life’s outcomes originate or arise from them.  Take charge and guard your heart by doing the following:

  • Guard Your Thoughts

This one is easier said than done.  Have you ever caught yourself thinking/imagining the worst? And, not having a clue that you were doing so until your feelings caught up with your thoughts? It’s one of those traps our unfiltered thoughts can entertain.  We must learn to discipline screening our thoughts and silencing our imaginations which aren’t in line with who we are and what we desire.  If we allow our thoughts to wander long enough, we set ourselves up for failure.

One of the best ways I have discovered to guard our thoughts is to constantly plant positive seeds into our minds on an ongoing basis.  The best way to do this is  by reading positive books, listening to positive music and audio training programs, meditating, reciting positive affirmations, and surrounding ourselves with positive people.

If we don’t intentionally cultivate our minds with all things positive, weeds will invariably grow there.  So it greatly benefits us to develop the habit of taking proactive measures to saturate our minds with all things positive at every opportunity.

  • Understand What Your Emotions are Communicating

Before discovering Abraham Hicks’ teachings and listening to Tony Robbins, I wasn’t aware that my emotions were basically just signals communicating to me that I was experiencing a gap between where I am and where I wanted to be.  Furthermore, I didn’t realize emotions were signals calling me to action.  They summon me to either change my perception (the meaning) or my procedure (my communication or my behavior).

Coming into this empowering knowledge help me to understand that I am always in control of how I feel. And, nothing controls me but me.  And, controlling how I feel is imperative for me to direct and channel my emotions to be a conduit for positive change.

  • Allow God/Universe To Engineer Your Success

Learning to relax and go with the flow gives us the most bang for our buck in manifesting all that we desire.  We must begin to believe with every fiber of our being that God/Universe wants to see us win.  That God/Universe is always orchestrating on our behalf.  Part of this process is to make peace with what is whenever we observe in our current reality things that “appear” to be the total opposite of what we desire.

We must learn the art of counting it all good and learning to appreciate ALL of our experiences and intentionally looking for the positive aspects of each and every one of them.  Including the seemingly bad ones.  We must recognize and believe that all things are working together for our good.

One of the best ways to relax is to release and stop worrying about the how and the when dynamics of whatever it is we are desiring.  And, learn to trust in the old adage God is never late and is always on time.  In other words, we need to learn to trust in divine timing for our lives.

  • Refuse To Focus On The Unwanted

Here is another one of those easier said than done statements.  It’s soooooo challenging to ignore current reality and focus on what we want when our five senses are being bombarded with all types of so-called “evidence” of the opposite being real.  However, this is where intentional discipline and training the mind is imperative.

I have found the tools outlined in the book “Deliberate Creation” by Abraham Hicks to be the most effective in helping me to refuse to focus on the unwanted.  I mistakenly believed if I willed myself to not think about something then I would stop thinking about it and or focusing upon it.  However, I’ve learned from Hicks that isn’t quite how it works.  The best way is to redirect my focus onto something else and the other issue will die away from lack of attention.

I agree with the quote what you focus on grows.  We cannot afford the luxury of focusing on the unwanted because each time we allow our focus to drift in that direction more unwanted things, situations, and people flow into our experience because LOA is not a respecter of feelings.  Thus delaying or sabotaging getting what we want.

  • Direct Your Imagination Towards the Wanted

Your imagination is the powerful tool in your law of attraction toolkit.  And, directing it towards what is wanted is a guarantee for attracting all that you desire into your life. Again, I’ve found the best tools for directing my attention towards the wanted in the book “Deliberate Creation” by Abraham Hicks.  Today I indulged in an extended period of time utilizing the 68 Seconds of Deliberate Creation – Creating What I Desire activity.

And, I wrote down an experience that I would like to have happen in the way I want it to happen.  As a result my attention was focused on my desires and I felt excited, eager, enthusiastic, and optimistic about them.  I have no doubts whatsoever that I sent some pretty powerful vibrational energy which will manifest it into my life soon.

I purchased a sketch book and I enjoy writing my creations/scripts in it.  Each time is a special experience when I write them.  I wrote down my desires in as much vivid sensory detail as I could and in present tense.  And on the opposite page I pasted a collage of pictures that represented my deliberate creation.  I included some handwritten doodling, drawings, lettering, etc on the page and I plan to add to them daily as I reactivate the same feelings I had while creating them today.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FOCUS!  When you focus on what you want, everything else falls away. And, you will design the ideal life you’ve always wanted. Focus is staring the world in the face and saying bring it! Focus is power.  Focus is life.  All you have to do is FOCUS!
