The Power of Small Changes

Greetings!  Happy Monday!  Happy first day of May!

New month….new challenge.

We all have areas in our lives where we’re stuck and no matter what just can’t seem to get moving in the direction of our goals.  Well that’s where this month challenge comes in.  It’s time to make small changes because small changes can make a BIG difference.

We have to change something because old ways won’t open new doors.  Don’t get too far out of head of yourself and start worrying how will you get there or doubting if you can keep it going once you get started.  Just take the first step and get started.

I saw this quote and it resonated with me and sums up the essence of this month’s challenge…..“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.  Tip toe if you must.  But take the first step.”

My five small changes are in the area of healing my body.  Thus, my small changes are drinking 3 liters of water daily, taking my supplements daily, exercising daily (walk 4 miles 4 times a week and do strength training 4 times a week), no fast food, no corn syrup/severely limit sugar intake.

I encourage you to make your list today and post it somewhere where you can see and go for it and implement your five small changes for the month of May.  Can hardly wait to hear your feedback and how your small changes made a BIG difference in your lives.

Cheers! ♥♥♥

Imagination Is the Secret

2017

Hello March!  Farewell February!  A new month a new challenge.  I love issuing myself a challenge each month because it keeps me on my toes and gives me something positive to target and look forward to.  This month I’m inviting others to join me again.  Many participants in last month Love Yo’Self Diva challenge experience personal breakthroughs and growth.

Thank you for all the positive feedback and how the challenge motivated you and helped you to soar and explore new heights in life.  This month I would like to explore and practice leveraging the power of the imagination to draw/attract desired results into our lives.

I’m trying something different this month and have created a Facebook group especially for this challenge.  If you want to participate in this life changing event, click here and RSVP for this event and you’ll be added to the group. This will prove to be a fun, exciting, and rewarding challenge. Let’s set our imagination forward and spring forward in life!

See the Vision – and HUSTLE!

download-29

Alright!  Alright! Alright!  The long awaited year 2017 is here. So what are you gonna do about it?  Things don’t magically change because the calendar changed from December 31st to January 1st. In order for our lives to change something has to change in our everyday life.

Have you decided what needs to change in your everyday life?  Is it your vision, your hustle, or both?  I love the concepts of Law of Attraction, believe it and you will see it, be grateful and more will come your way, feel good to attract the things you want in your life, act as if, vision boards and the who enchilada.

But we must realize without hustle there is no vision.  Biblical wisdom teaches us that “Faith without works is dead”.  Yep that’s right it is not going to magically fall from the sky into our laps.  We’re going to have to get up and get it! get it! if we want make it happen for us.  If we really have 20/20 vision for our goals then we should be able to see ourselves successful and taking action becomes relatively easy.

We’ve all heard that we have to be patient and that it takes time to actualize our dreams.  This “calmly wait” aka patience idea has been misunderstood by many.  Being patient/calmly waiting has more to do with our mental attitude than sitting around idling waiting for the Universal microwave to serve us our desires piping hot.

Our mental attitude should be that of calm, confident expectation, while at the same time both our mind and body are busily and actively engaged in work.  In other words, we should expect the best and hustle, hustle, hustle.  We must realize that success is a composite of our thoughts, feelings, and action.

The more we hustle the more results we see.  Let me highlight that all action is not hustle.  We can be busy little beavers and not be productive because we are busy being busy with no aim or purpose.  Hustle means you’ve identified the income producing, growth, results-driven activities necessary to make your vision come true and that you are actively and consistently applying these actions towards your goals.

I encourage you in 2017 to identify the daily income producing, growth, results-driven activities that support your 2017 Vision and then HUSTLE! Need help?  Sometimes we need a mentor to help us cultivate the plan and/or hold us accountable.  I can help you.

The first five people who email me “I’m ready to hustle” at askangelyn@gmail.com will win a 30 minute complimentary mentoring session to help you See the Vision and Hustle in 2017.  Will it be you?

Cheers! ♥♥♥

Is It Just My Imagination Running Away with Me?

imagination-decides-everything-quote-1

I’ve often read worry is a misuse of the imaginative power.  And I wonder why it is so easy for me to use my imagination in this way and so challenging to use it constructively.  I believe it takes courage to imagine the future that one desires without a shred of evidence of it coming true.  I also believe it is increasingly more difficult to do so when “reality” presents  us with the opposite.

After all we’ve all been drown and brainwashed in sayings like “seeing is believing”, “face the truth of the matter”, “face the facts”.  In other words, we’ve all been conditioned that “reality” trumps “imagination”.  I’m learning I have much to unlearn in order to embrace and harness the real truth about life and how we create the life we deeply desire.

It’s worth it to me to learn more about how to harness my imagination.  After all, the imagination properly trained will readily and efficiently plan, design, construct, build, improve, and generally perform creative work for us all.   I know that I know how to imagine because I do it so well with imagining the worse possible outcome.

In the same way, I now need to learn how to consistently redirect this energy to imagining the best possible outcome and holding on to it and replaying it over and over again in my mind like I do with the worse possible outcome.  Another thing I have discovered that’s fairly interesting and worth mentioning is how quickly people with concur with my imaginative acts towards the worse.

I think others relate to this more than when I declare, decree, and decide that the best possible outcome is on tap and waiting to be delivered to me.    I must have the courage to stand alone in my conviction of what I can create with my imagination and work/pray in secret and wait til I’m rewarded openly.

I’ve decided that I’m going to let my imagination run wild, run free, and focus it on the ideal of a strong, healthy, wealthy, loving, loved, free, accomplished,  appreciative, enlightened, and vigorous woman and trust that that ‘something within’ will faithfully reproduce this ideal in physical and material form and activity.  I will do my job which is to consistently imagine and trust that someway somehow it will happen for me.  And the leave the how to the Universe.

What Has Been Your Practice?

pixteller-design-e3011a2d566c0d9d-2

What has been your practice?  Has it been to live a life filled with complexities or do you practice keeping it simple?  I know I have scattered myself in so many different directions in times past and ended up not getting anything done.  Bruce Lee said “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”

I believe this is very important in our Thought Life as it relates to focusing our thoughts in order to manifest the things we desire in life.  I liked that Earl Nightingale in the Strangest Secret suggests to focus on the one thing you want for 30 days and to practice giving all your positive energy to the one thought of it’s attainment.

In a book I’m reading the author suggests it too, to practice harnessing thoughts towards the one major desire and to practice silencing all other thoughts that are contrary to the one thing you desire most.  I like what the author had to say about having too many things you’re trying to think about and trying to manifest them all at one time.  He says it dilutes your power when you jump from one subject to the next  or when we’re constantly changing our minds and/or constantly entertaining doubt, worry, fear as it relates to the attainment of what we desire most.

I decided to put the pedal to the medal and to adopt this habit keeping it simple and practicing the one thought from now to the end of year.  If my mind starts to drift, I am disciplining myself to come back to the affirmation of the one thought.  I’m also practicing asking more questions and making fewer statements.  I have found most statements to be limiting.

For instance instead of saying, I want to lose 10 lbs.  I ask the question how can I lose 10 lbs in a healthy, fun way?  If it’s money…instead of saying I want to double my income.  Try practice asking the question “How can I double my income by xyz in a stimulating, fun, engaging way?”, “How can I find the loving mate I deeply desire easily and effortlessly?”, “How can I double the number of customers I have?”, “How can I find the right house for the right price in the right neighborhood?”, “How can I exercise regularly and enjoy it?”, “How can I heal my body?, “How can I earn better grades easily and effortlessly?”, etc.

You get the picture?  Tony Robbins is a huge advocate of asking quality questions.  He advocates that the quality of one’s life is in direct proportion to the amount of quality questions one ask themselves.  Practice asking the one question, practice focusing on the realization of the one question, leave the how to the Universe, and go entertain yourself while you wait and make yourself as happy, loving, joyful, and appreciative as you possibly can in the meantime.

Drifting Is Not Navigation

pixteller-design-575a48f21c6c9527

Want to guess how many full 24 hour days we have starting tomorrow, November 22, 2016?  Yep, you guessed right!  Forty full 24 hour days.  How will you spend them?  Will you aimlessly drift through them into the new year?  Or will you be intentional and navigate your way into the new year?

I choose to navigate into the new year.  I find this to be a perfect opportunity to invest my time in cultivating new seed habits for 2017.  Take baby steps if you need to do so.  If it’s true that it takes 21 days to develop a new habit.  I wonder what 40 days of intentionally practicing a new habit will yield for us?

I plan to go all out and have intense focus on developing three new habits that will support my top three goals for 2017.  My granddaddy used to say “If you don’t know where you’re going any road will take you there.”

What if it were just as simple as “It is my dominant intention to  drink 1/2 my body weight in water for the next 40 days to support my weight loss goals.”   Or, “It is my dominant intention to walk at least one mile a day for the next 40 days to support my weight loss goals”.  Or, “It is my dominant intentions to consume 3 fruits and 3 veggies each day without fail for the next 40 days to support my well-being goals”.

In sales?  What about “It is my dominant intention to make 5 income generating calls over the next 40 days.”  Career goals? “It is my dominant intention to study in my field 30 minutes each day to increase my knowledge in my career.”  Purchase a new home?  “It is my dominant intention to invest time looking a new houses, playing the money game, and visualizing being in my new home”. <= this one is regardless of if your bank account says you’re ready or not.  Same thing for any other purchase like buying a new car, furniture, etc.

Ready to meet the love of your life?  Or want to take your current relationship to the next level….What about “It is my dominant intention to set the table for two each day over the next 40 days in anticipation of marrying my highest mate.”  or “It is my dominant intention to turn the other side of my bed down over the next 40 days in anticipation of marrying my highest mate.” or “It is my dominant intention to keep an extra set of towels and change them out over the next 40 days as if I already am married to my highest mate.”

Whatever it is…your new habit doesn’t have to be a huge leap of faith or monumental.  Just something that keeps you focused on taking some type of action each and every day for the next forty days.  This is all prep work to build momentum so that you can get your mind to believe that you can have what you want and to take continual action towards your top three goals.

I think you get the picture.  Just get moving and get 100% focused on what it is that you want.  And don’t make the mistake of figuring out how it will happen.  Just keep your focus 100% on your intended end and take a baby step action each day that reinforces that you believe it will happen for you.

I want to hear from you….what’s in your navigational kit?  How will you use the next 40 days to sail your boat towards your intended destination?  Better yet what ideas do you have to share with others?  What baby steps do you recommend for a particular goal?  I’m excited and am looking forward to the next 40 days….Are you?

I Choose to Go the Distance

you-may-never-know-what-results-come-from-your-action-but-if-you-do-nothing-there-will-be-no-result-action-quote

Sometimes we set goals enthusiastically as a result of a new day, new week, new month, new year, workshop, after a discussion with a friend, etc.   And I don’t know about you but I find that I  set some really really terrific goals and then fail to follow through.

I’ve been on this re-image my body campaign for about a six weeks or so.  About a month ago, I downloaded the SparkPeople App because someone referenced it in a FB group.

Well this one action has led to infinitely many good decisions towards taking action to re-image my body.  For instance one goal  that I’ve set is a mileage goal of 60 miles for the month of September.  That means I choose to go the distance regardless of what the scale says or how I perceive my body isn’t changing and put in 60 miles on the pavement.

Similarly, I have set a goal to do push ups, squats, leg lifts, bridges, crunches, donkey kicks, and lunges daily as well.  And I know with each mile, pushup, squat, leg lift, bridge, crunch, donkey kick, and lunge that it is changing me.  Small efforts performed repeatedly over time yields huge results if we just refuse to quit and persist with consistency.

Likewise, I know if I choose to do nothing that nothing will change.  Similarly, if I continue to make the same choices….I’ll get the same results.  It’ll just be another round of wash, rinse, and repeat.  Therefore, I’m choosing to choose for me!

I choose to make the effort and go the distance.  I can hardly wait to see what results with come of my action.  I love the Sparkpeople App because I’ve learned a lot about my eating habits and why I have failed in the past in re-imaging my body according to the vision that I have for myself.  The one action that I truly cannot wait to see my progress on is the 30 day Fiber Challenge that I decided to do five days ago.

With the SparkPeople 30 day Fiber Challenge, I’m prompted to consume 25-35 grams of fiber each day.  So far I’m on track and am already noticing some significant differences.  And , no I’m not an affiliate marketer for SparkPeople.  I’m a real person making real changes in my life and this tool by far has helped me in infinitely many ways.

I’m loving who I am becoming on this body re-image journey.  I am on my way….I can and I will go the distance!
